We’re pleased to welcome Matt Bocca to the MB Energy group as our new Trading Coordinator, based at the Mabanaft Ltd London office.

Matt joins us with strong experience in the energy sector. After starting out on the graduate scheme at Phillips 66, he gained valuable exposure through a variety of rotations, before taking on a role at ExxonMobil as a Naphtha Operator. Now, Matt has made the move to MB Energy, where he’ll be working on the LPG Trading desk, focusing on developing and executing strategies across the European market.

When asked about the kind of environment that helps him thrive, Matt values open communication within the team and the ability to debate ideas freely. "That keeps things interesting and helps drive new discussions," he says and we couldn’t agree more.

As for what he brings to the team, Matt cites his attention to detail as a key strength. "I try and read as much as I can so that I can understand the full picture," he explains. It’s that kind of thorough approach that we know will serve him well in his new role.

When he’s not at work, you’ll often find Matt running. He aims for 5 - 10k a couple of times a week, fuelled by his favourite - pepperoni pizza. He’s also been known to cook a mean chilli con carne. We’ll be keeping that in mind for any future team cook offs.

And as for the controversial stuff? Matt’s firmly in the “no pineapple on pizza” camp. We’ll let the lunchroom debates commence…
