Our commitment to HSSE
Nothing means more to us than the health, safety and security of our employees and partners and the careful protection of our environment. We approach the management of HSSE as we would any other critical business activity and work to ensure best practice at all times. In our HSSE Policy, we commit to preventing all accidents, injuries and occupational illness, and to protect the environment. We therefore continually optimize all of our subsidiaries’ activities with a view to technical, organizational and behavior-based safety and promote a proactive safety culture. Our Health, Safety, Security & Environment (HSSE) Department develops corporate guidelines and ensures that these are met, maintained and constantly improved.
Our proactive approach to the prevention of accidents and work-related health problems includes raising awareness of HSSE related issues amongst staff, contractors and suppliers. Performance is measured as part of our staff appraisals and targets are set to achieve continual improvement. A central tool for learning from incidents is a global incident reporting system. To prevent incidents and their reoccurrence, all accidents and incidents are logged and systematically analyzed. If necessary, HSSE alerts are created, distributed to the relevant sites and discussed with our employees. To monitor compliance with our internal standards, internal HSSE audits are performed and detailed HSSE statistics are analyzed. We also require that contractors manage HSSE in accordance with our strict guidelines. To ensure compliance, full health & safety as well as site risk assessments are routinely carried out by our HSSE Manager.
We are equally conscientious about protecting the environment and encourage the efficient and responsible use of energy and materials in the provision of our products and services.
