Donating to The Passage to help end homelessness

Instead of sending Christmas cards in the post, our team has again chosen to make a donation to The Passage - the UK’s largest centre for homeless and insecurely housed people.

This year, instead of sending Christmas cards in the post, our team has again chosen to make a donation to The Passage - the UK’s largest centre for homeless and insecurely housed people.

We were all used to seeing people living and sleeping rough on the streets of London every day on our way to and from work and the situation has only got worse during COVID. The Passage doesn't just offer a short-term fix; the charity's professional support staff specialise in helping long-term rough sleepers out of homelessness. In fact, The Passage has now joined up with the national charity Crisis to offer support and advice to people at risk of becoming homeless in order to try and ensure they don’t end up on the streets.

The team at The Passage told us; "Over the Christmas period our Resource Centre and accommodation services will remain open, including on Christmas Day, Boxing Day, and New Year’s Day.

"On Christmas Day, as well as continuing to run our vital assessment, advice, medical and outreach services, we will also be offering people who approach our Resource Centre a special cooked breakfast in addition to the usual food parcels that we provide each day. In addition to this, our three accommodation projects; Montfort House, Passage House and Newman Street will remain operational for their residents, with staff providing special personalised gifts, festive meals and additional psychological support at what is a particularly emtionally charged time!"
