We are pleased to announce that Mabanaft has acquired a second truck stop, Avon Lodge, as part of our ongoing commitment to developing a network of truck stops across the UK.
We completed the deal on 31st January 2020, adding to a network that will offer drivers and companies high-quality truck stops as an alternative to those owned by the oil companies and large group networks.
A TOP-TIER TRUCK STOP IN THE SOUTHWEST
Avon Lodge, like Junction 29, is one of the UK's top-tier independent truck stops. It is a significant site on the commercial fuel network that supports Keyfuels', UK Fuels' and Morgan Fuels' customers. It is located in the South West, in the established Avon dock area – 7.5 miles from Bristol city centre and approximately 1 mile from Junction 18 on the M5 Motorway. Avon Lodge offers outstanding facilities for driver welfare and vehicle security, including a truck wash, bunkered fuel and secure overnight parking for 65 HGVs, as well as showers, a café, lounge and shop.
Prior to the acquisiton, this top facility was developed by Brian York and Richard Ollis, backed by their excellent industry knowledge and management skills. In the same vein, supporting the fuel card companies' customers remains a high priority for our business and we will continue the work started by Brian and Richard.
Mabanaft Ltd chose Avon Lodge because of its strong reputation and high standards. We plan to retain all staff and facilities.
A NETWORK OF TRUCK STOPS ACROSS THE UK
Managing director Martin Cook says; “The acquisition of Avon Lodge marks the next step on our journey towards developing a portfolio of truck stops strategically located across the UK. Our aim is to strengthen our presence in the commercial fuel market and support the development of new non-fuel revenues such as parking, AdBlue, driver hospitality and truck wash."
