Mabanaft to supply new Norwegian airline Flyr as it takes to the skies

Mabanaft Energy Scandinavia AS is delighted to have secured the contract to supply Flyr, a new airline which launched at Oslo Gardermoen Airport (OSL) in June 2021.

Mabanaft Energy Scandinavia AS is delighted to have secured the contract to supply Flyr, a new airline which launched at Oslo Gardermoen Airport (OSL) in June 2021. It is always interesting to hear about entrepreneurs setting up new businesses, but after the worst year in the history of aviation, it is both inspiring and heartening to see this new airline being launched in Norway.

Flyr was created by Norwegian aviation veteran Erik Braathen who plans to build a new low-cost airline. A long and narrow country divided by fjords and mountains, Norway is dependent on air travel so in addition to serving other key Scandinavian and European destinations from OSL, Norway’s domestic market will also be core to Flyr’s business at the airport.

SUPPLYING JET A-1 AND SAF IN LINE WITH THE NORWEGIAN MANDATE

Mabanaft will be supplying Flyr with Jet A-1 and Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF), in line with the Norwegian Mandate, at the airline’s home base in Oslo. Into plane fueling services will be provided by AFS Aviation Fuel Services GmbH.

Simon Mueller, Mabanaft’s Aviation Manager for the Nordics said; “It’s great to be continuing to build our customer portfolio at Oslo Airport and very exciting to be supporting a new start up with such strong potential in such difficult global market conditions. The new contract is a great addition to our growing customer portfolio at OSL and represents continued positive growth for Mabanaft Energy Scandinavia AS.”
