New rail supply infrastructure in Oslo on track to meet 2021 deadline

Mabanaft’s new rail supply infrastructure for delivering aviation fuel to Oslo Gardermoen Airport (OSL) is making excellent progress and on schedule to be completed by the end of Q1, 2021.

COMPETITIVE PRICING ATTRACTS INTEREST 

Mabanaft began supplying Jet A-1 aviation fuel to Norwegian Airlines and Lufthansa in July 2020 and, despite COVID, has since supplied a steady volume - with competitive pricing attracting interest from several new customers.

Toby Simmons, Aviation Manager for Mabanaft, said: “We are delighted that the construction of the rail loading facility is on track to meet the planned deadline. This new rail supply infrastructure will help meet the demand for supplying jet fuel and improving sustainability by using the latest technology. We believe that improving the fuel supply to the airport will be of significant benefit to the airport and the airlines.”

Considerable investment, both in terms of time and money, demonstrates Mabanaft’s long-term commitment to becoming a key supplier of aviation fuel in Norway. The company is also working to develop sales throughout Scandinavia and the Baltics.
